Bargota is a municipality of the statutory community of Navarresse (Spain) in the jurisdiction and post of a district judge of Estella.According to Mikel Belasko 1 Bargota is a |topónimo| of Romance source it can derive of the high steepest part of a hill expression. Steepest part of a hill or |barga| is an used word in Castilian and |euskera| that has a related meaning with costs or tilt. According to the DRAE one of the meanings of the steepest part of a hill word are departs more tilt of a hill. Precisely the Bargota people it settles in the side of a gorge. According to Belasko the evolution of the name has been Barga high,  Bargalta,  Bargauta- Bargota. Although not exist ancient documents that guarantee with an endorsement that evolution, as support of this hypothesis is the fact that exists a wilderness in the municipality of Mañeru denominate also Bargota, that yes appears in ancient documents below the Bargauta name.Cornava
