The city was founded for the romen, that gave you the name of obvious. as of the v century it suffers successive big waves of invasions and dominations, until the arrival of the arabs to the island in the year 903 , by being incorporate to the caliphate of cordoba. The |musulmanes| contributed to return to Majorca the prosperity of the Roman time, and the city of palm was named Medina Markuya.
